25th March, 1st April
and Mother's day!

On Friday, April 1st we had a combined celebration for Mother's Day and the Greek National Holidays.

March 25th is the celebration for the start of the Greek Revolution against Turkish rule in 1821 and April 1st was the beginning of the uprising for Cyprus Independence in 1955.

The children of the First class read about going to school and church secretly in 1821 and sang songs. The Middle Class read about the heroes of the Revolution and the Struggle and the GCSE class performed a sketch they wrote themselves about Mother's Day.

The Celebration was made even more special with a selection of Greek and Easter delicacies that the parents brought in!
